CAREER TRANSITIONS:

My return to painting in 2019 follows a decision in 2005 to pursue a rewarding nursing career in tandem with my identity as an artist. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2007, I became an oncology nurse at a large urban cancer hospital in NYC, fully immersed in life-saving efforts and patients’ end-of life challenges. Throughout, I maintained my connection to the visual world. Being a nurse has given me a sense of urgency to paint whenever I can, deepening my perspective on the world around me.
